Sypnosis

Nani Maiya and her husband Gyanu Raja have yet to conceive a child after three years of marriage. Fearing that her daughter-in-law is sterile and her ardent wish to be a grand mother will never be fulfilled, Gyanu Raja’s mother Gyanu Devi pressures her son to remarry. Nani Maiya is fully aware of her mother-in-law’s plans. Gyanu Raja wants his mother to be patient and believes he and his wife will conceive one day. But as his involvement in the activities of a political party increases and he is hardly ever at home, it seems as if his interest in his wife is decreasing. And it could mean a lifetime of shame for Nani Maiya if her husband were to go on to remarry and have children. It is up to her to either accept her fate or to make other plans.
